James-Franco-makes-his-Cannes-Film-Festival-return-for-the-third-year-in-a-row-with-his-longtim
This one dey seriously annoy my spirit today! The international entertainment industry is actively showing its true, hypocritical colors again. Na wa o, when will Hollywood finally stop rewarding deeply problematic behavior with glamorous red carpet invitations?

The Raw Facts: The 79th Cannes Film Festival
Update land for my table straight from the beautiful French Riviera today. The highly prestigious 79th Cannes Film Festival has officially opened its doors for the 2026 edition. The opening night featured a beautiful tribute to The Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson. Specifically, actor Elijah Wood proudly introduced him as he received the highly coveted honorary Palme d’Or. Furthermore, the festival officially kicked off with the world premiere screening of a movie called The Electric Kiss.

The James Franco Shocker
However, the biggest and most controversial news of the entire night was the sudden appearance of James Franco. The actor boldly returned to the massive Cannes red carpet after years of completely hiding from the public eye. Franco previously faced multiple serious allegations of sexual misconduct from his own former acting students. He even settled a massive lawsuit regarding these disturbing allegations back in 2021. Despite this very dark history, Cannes organizers allowed him to proudly walk the red carpet alongside Izabel Pakzad for the opening movie.

Hollywood’s Double Standards
During the same opening day, veteran actor Jane Fonda and some jury members were loudly preaching about political resistance and freedom. Yet, nobody actively protested the presence of an alleged sexual predator at their glamorous party. Consequently, Franco’s highly controversial presence completely hijacked the international media attention away from the actual filmmakers. Therefore, many people are currently dragging the festival organizers online for their blatant double standards.

Truth Delivered: The De Auditor Verdict
As the De Auditor, I must strictly audit this massive international hypocrisy today. “Cancel culture” is clearly a complete myth for wealthy and powerful Hollywood men! You absolutely cannot claim to protect vulnerable women while actively rolling out red carpets for accused abusers. The global entertainment industry must completely stop enabling and celebrating individuals with history of severe misconduct. Finally, true accountability should not have an expiration date just because you want to watch a new movie. Enough is definitely enough!
